Located in the Vuecrest community of Bellevue, the existing ranch-style home did not meet the spatial needs of the homeowners and their frequent visiting children & grandchildren. Their goals were to create a new residence that not only had room for their guests, but also took advantage of the sweeping views of downtown Bellevue, Lake Washington, and downtown Seattle.
Due to the strict Vuecrest design guidelines (and the inability to build upward), COUPE architecture designed a new one-story home with full basement. The main level contained a grand family room & kitchen area (shifted to be on axis with the Space Needle), as well as the dining area, Master Suite, and a guest suite. The basement level contained another two guest suites, wine room, entertainment room, and 3-car garage.
